Definition for Amniotic egg

The structure that contains the developing embryo and the four separate extraembryonic membranes that it produces: the amnion, the yolk sac, the allantois, and the chorion. The hard shelled egg that allows reptiles and bird to have internal fertilization, but not have to have the organism develop inside the mother.
